The Big Reveal

At my last doctor's appointment, I got a surprise....

Tuesday I went to the doctor for my 16 week appointment. The gender ultrasound was scheduled for August 5 but due to some pain I've been having Dr. McGuire took a little peak to make sure everything was ok. Steven did not go to the doctor with me so I told Dr. McGuire to send me home with a sealed envelope. Inside the envelope would be an ultrasound picture with girl, boy, or wait two more weeks. Wednesday morning Steven, John Parker and I opened our envelope realistically thinking we would see "wait two more weeks".... but that just was not the case. So, we needed a plan for the big reveal. First, I ordered a cake and invited family over for dessert. They would find out the gender when we cut the cake. If there was pink icing....girl. If there was blue icing....boy.

WE'RE HAVING A BOY!

Since my family could not make it for dessert, I sent my mom and dad a bouquet of blue flowers with a card that said "We're having a boy!"

We are very excited about another little boy. He will be born the same month John Parker turns 4. Perfect for hand-me-downs!!! John Parker is already such a big help around the house. He is going to be a great big brother. Soon we will have a name to share with everyone.

Staycation!!!

Steven's schedule worked out so we had a week off. So, we went on a canoe trip, stayed at the farm for a night, and finished the screen room.
The Canoe trip was great! We canoed the Buffalo River. The weather was perfect and the river was a little higher than normal so we did not have to paddle hard. Grammy and Poppy (Sarah and Louis) were in a canoe, Joe and Bryson was in canoe #2 and Steven, John Parker and I were in another canoe. Bryson got wet because he swam next to the canoe a lot of the trip, but Sarah and Louis got wet because there was a battle between their canoe and a tree and the tree won.

The Farm day was fun. Joe had 14 new goats that JPL got to play with and we got to play at our favorite creek.

And finally the screen room is complete....well almost. It is finished enough to use it. The outside is finished. We want to spruce up the inside but that can wait a while.

July 4

I just realized that I picked out the pics for the July 4 post but forgot to publish them.
The Johnson family got together for BBQ and Madison met her great aunt Lesia, uncle Mike, and uncle Jacky for the first time.

Madi Photo shoot 1

I could not wait to have a photo shoot with Madison. I collected ideas and Steven shot the pics. We did not get through all of the outfit/set changes so there will be more to come, I am sure.

I'm an aunt!!!!!!!

I've become a wife and even a mom and NOW I AM AN AUNT!!!!
Madison Grace Carter arrived Saturday, June 26, 2010 (while I was at the beach) around 8:30 pm. She weighed 5 pounds 13 ounces and was 19 inches long. Sarah and Paxton are doing great. Family is at home figuring out what life is all about.
May I introduce to you Madi:

What's a beach trip without a photo shoot?

With tradition, we had a Rosemary Beach family photo shoot.
