5 Year Wedding Anniversary

Hard to believe, but Steven and I have been married 5 years. This year we celebrated in Rosemary Beach. Since I am pregnant and still feeling a little yucky, a seafood dinner (usually a favorite) did not seem ideal. We've done this before (a first trimester anniversary) while pregnant with John Parker during our 1st anniversary. So, we grabbed pizza from one of our favorite Rosemary restaurants and had dinner on the beach. Low key and nice. John Parker stayed in with the babysitters during dinner, but once the sun set the Link family searched the sand for crabs. Steven caught two large crabs (reminding me why swimming in the ocean at night is a bad idea!). John Parker actually caught a fish. He said, "the fish can't talk." Turned out the fish was d-e-a-d. But John Parker returned the fish to the ocean so that it could "swim away". All-in-all a great anniversary and looking forward to the next 5....

"Rosemary Pearl" Baby Shower

Last week some very sweet friends and family hosted a baby shower for Sarah and Paxton. The shower was great and "Rosie P" received some wonderfully precious pieces. Thank you Lesia, Lynn, and Pam!!! Madison Grace Carter is scheduled to arrive Saturday, June 26, 2010!!!

Father's Day

John Parker and I had Father's Day early for Steven because we were heading out of town. After a long day of building the screen room we grilled chicken wings and I made Steven his favorite dessert, strawberry pound cake. After dinner Steven opened his Father's Day gift (fishing shirt) and we exchanged 5 year wedding anniversary gifts (hand made butcher block for Steven and another band for my wedding ring). Without prompting John Parker put the ring on my finger just like Steven did over 5 years ago. It was soooooo sweet.

Screen Room Day #2-3

Well, the carpenter is done. The screen room is not. Therefore, we have a lot of work ourselves (Steven) to do. A roofer will shingle the roof and then we (Steven) will put the doors on, place the screens in, and paint. Yeah!!!

Just a peak at the pumpkins!!!! They are growing!!!!

Link Baby #2 Update

I know the ultrasound is really fuzzy but it was the first belly ultrasound.
I am now 11 weeks. I am starting to feel better!!!! Hopefully I will continue to feel good during our beach trip. Baby is almost 2 inches long and measuring 3 days bigger than he/she actually is. I actually have lost around 5-6 pounds during this trimester but baby is growing. Next ultrasound and update in two weeks.

Coming Soon: Link Backyard Farmer's Market

No updates on the screened-in-porch. We are waiting for schedules to align, but in the mean time we planted a garden. Steven and I have been wanting to grow a couple of veggies. I remember growing up playing in my gramps' garden and Steven's dad grows tomatoes in his side yard. John Parker wants to grow pumpkins so that he can sit and wait for the Great Pumpkin just like Linus. I sent Steven to buy a couple of tomato plants, pumpkins, and some squash and cucumbers. Steven came home with a future farmer's market: pumpkins, green beans, snow peas, okra, watermelon, cantaloupe, squash, zucchini, cucumbers, bell peppers, banana peppers, rosemary, cilantro, strawberries, and tomatoes. WOW!!! Steven built the garden frame, unloaded a trailer of gardening soil, planted the seeds and plants, and wrapped the garden with a fence so that our precious bunnies do not eat our harvest before we do. John Parker and I painted signs to map the layout of the veggies, made a bird house, and we water the garden everyday. It has only been 4 days and the pumpkins and beans have already begun to sprout.

Wheaty Photo Shoot

This is something we have been wanting to do for a couple of years but never could time it right. This year we caught the wheat just before harvest. Yes, some trespassing occurred on some very famous middle Tennessee land, but it was worth it. John Louis is the featured photographer.
