Lots of UPDATES

I have just made several posts so make sure you go all the way back to Sarah's swearing in ceremony to make sure you have not missed any.
Farm Fun and Summer Activities coming soon...

Bye Bye Paci

I will be the first to admit, we have let this go on TOO long. However, JPL has given up the paci. Now, before this week, we only let him sleep with it so he was not walking around at school with it or anything. When Steven and I got home from Chicago we told John Parker the paci had to go. JPL said he wanted to give it to a little boy that needed it so we wrote a letter,

Dear Little Boy,
I am giving you my paci. I am a big boy and do not need it anymore. The paci will help you go to sleep at night and in the morning you can put it in the drawer and play with your trains. I hope the paci helps you.
Love John Parker

and we put the paci in the mailbox and mailed it to a little boy that needs it. We saw the mail man take it away and later Poppy said a lady told him that her little boy needed a paci and got one in the mail and it has helped him sleep better.

It was so sweet that JPL wanted to give his paci to a little boy.

William's "Meat" 'n Greet

William's first BBQ!!!
We just had to have something than a sip 'n see so a meat 'n greet would be perfect for our William. Plus, it is an excuse to have dad make his awesome BBQ. The party was fabulous. We had balloons (a JPL favorite), riding toys, sand toys, water toys all for our little friends and good food and drinks for our big friends. The only disappointment is that we forgot to take pictures!!!! Until everyone was gone :(. We had so many good friends and family and missed great opportunities to take pictures. We will just have to do it again SOON!

CHICAGO

Just a little retreat for 2....
I have not spent any time in Chicago so off we went. We were total tourist and it was great: a riverboat tour of Chicago's architecture, a trip to the top of the Sears building and onto "the ledge", a Cub's game, Navy Pier, the Field museum, and drinks at the top of the Hancock so we could see Navy Pier's fireworks from above.

We ate great! Heaven on 7 is a wonderful Cajun restaurant. They had the best shrimp poorboy, wonderful jalapeno muffins, and the largest spoon for your gumbo that we have ever seen (see pic, explains the spoon). Shaw's seafood had the best lobster bisque that I have EVER had. We ate lunch at Goose Island across from Wrigley Field and found a new favorite beer. Budweiser just bought it so hopefully we will be seeing Goose Island down here soon. Our last night we ate at A Girl and A Goat. We have had reservations for 4 months and still had to eat at 5:15. The chef Stephanie, was a winner of Top Chef.

We had a great time but missed the boys.

Happy Father's Day

This year John Parker planned the entire Father's Day Celebration.
He gave me a listed that morning:
*It is a surprise (so I could not tell Steven it was father's day :))
*Bake a cake
*Get balloons
*Make a puzzle
*Get a card
*Hide and then jump out and say "SURPRISE" when daddy gets home (from work)
*Sing the Happy Birthday song.... (I kept telling him it was not daddy's birthday but that we could sing Happy Father's Day. John Parker was insistent that we sing The Happy Birthday song...so we did)
